Our solutions match point-to-point (PtP) and LMDS point-to-multipoint (PmP) products.

Provigent is developing single chip wireless modem, wireless transmission modem.

This is an SDH wireless modem and PDH wireless modem.

Our products include wireless modems: point to point modem (microwave modem), commonly used for wireless backhaul networks, and point to multi point burst modem (LMDS modem), used for broadband fixed wireless access (BFWA).

Our LMDS chip modem offers unparalleled enhances capabilities.

Provigent's high speed wireless ASIC modem is designed specifically for fixed broadband wireless, LMDS, MMDS and point to point microwave applications, used for wireless access and wireless cellular backhaul.

Provigent's microwave and mm-wave wireless modem chip is designed specifically for fixed broadband wireless, LMDS, MMDS and point to point microwave applications, used for wireless access and wireless cellular backhaul.

Provigent’s PTP modem and PMP modem is designated for wireless applications: Cellular backhaul and Wireless LAN backhaul (WLAN backhaul).

Fixed wireless systems can be divided into three major segments: Licensed Band Point to Point (PTP) systems, Unlicensed Band Point to Point systems, and Point to Multipoint (PMP) systems. While PTP systems connect two nodes, PMP systems consist of a single base station, which connects to multiple subscriber stations (CPE).

Target Markets - Broadband Wireless Transmission

The broadband wireless industry is an inseparable part of the overall telecommunications infrastructure industry, and is traditionally the technology of choice for many operators. Fixed wireless systems present operators, service providers and organizations with an independent, reliable, flexible, high-capacity infrastructure that is quickly deployed and up-scaled. It is a cost-effective and operationally advantageous solution.

Licensed Band Point to Point (PTP) Systems

These systems are used in a variety of applications, including cellular networks backhaul, Telco or ILEC (Incumbent Local Exchange Carrier) backhaul, high capacity metro, governmental and military communications networks, utility networks, and enterprise campus networks.
Cellular networks backhaul is a main application for licensed Band PTP systems. Wireless backhaul offers a considerable advantage to cellular & PCS operators over traditional infrastructure solutions, leased line (E1/T1) and fiber optics in terms of costs, time-to-market, and flexibility of range, capacity and location.
As licensed band PTP systems are adapted to current market trends, vendors are required to reduce system costs while improving their performance. The PVG310 point-to-point modem modem for PTP applications addresses these problems by offering a flexible unified platform that includes all modem functionalities, thus leading to a reduction in overall system level costs. Additionally, as operators wish to reduce their spectrum licensing costs, the demand for higher spectral efficient licensed band PTP systems grows. The PVG310 point-to-point modem high spectral efficiency allows operators to make the best of the expensive spectrum they own.

Unlicensed Band Point to Point (PTP) Systems

This market includes PTP systems operating in the unlicensed frequency bands, mainly around 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz, and over 60 GHz. Unlicensed band systems have become increasingly popular in the last few years, as no licensing from government authorities is required, thus shortening time-to-market and cutting expenses on licensing fees.
Traditional applications of unlicensed band PTP links were enterprises and IP-network backhauling for wireless ISPs, but these have grown to include cellular and utility backhaul. Another major driver application for these systems is WLAN Public Hotspots backhauling. As systems for this market are mainly used to transmit IP traffic, using the PVG310 PTP modem adaptive modulation feature allows vendors to develop systems, which support higher data rates while maintaining the same system costs.

Point to Multipoint (PMP) Systems

The main application for PMP systems is Broadband Fixed Wireless Access (BFWA), which delivers high-speed data, voice, and video for business and private use. Broadband wireless solutions complement and replace alternative access technologies.
PMP broadband wireless systems support high data rates, and offer high reliability. The PVG410/420 SoC is designed in accordance with the IEEE 802.16 standard. Provigent is an IEEE and ETSI active member.
